Comic Con day 2: News Wrap-Up
Robocop, Avengers and more

Hey Fools! Second day of Comic Con was mostly panel for movies we already knew about, so unless you were there to enjoy the stars and snap a few pics there isn't a whole lot of news to report, so we'll stick to that and hope we can have eyes and ears over there next year for all tyo enjoy!

In the mean time, big news item from the Con on Firday:

ROBOCOP IS DISMANTLED
[Image7_right]Captain C over at Moviehole ran into an insider who says Darren Aronofsky's much anticipated reboot of Robocop was one of the first projects to fly out the window when "it" hit the fan; no Bond means much less Robocop. The insider also claims Aro has completely lost interest anyway, so unless someone buys back the rights from the studio and the script from Aronofsky, well that's all for Murphy's cybernetic crime fighting folks.

GUILLERMO DEL TORO CARVING PINOCCHIO
Del Toro appeared for a second time at the con this year, this time a sproducer to Troy Nixey's upcoming remake of Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. The director touched upon some of the other projects he's looking into, and one of them is a stop-motion re-telling of Pinocchiol; I gotta say coming from him that could be damn interesting. Also mentioned he's working on a horro anthology series for cable, but will go into more details later down the year.

LOST BOYS: 3RD SEQUEL AND TV SHOW
Edgard Frog intends to ride the gravy train, or at least opportunistic star Corey Feldman does. The "star" was on stage to pimp out the DTV Lost Boys: The Thirst, and dropped the bomb that producers are looking into translating the concept into a TV show ('cause there ain't aint enough vampire stuff out there on TV right now, what with True Blood and Vampire Diaries...). Also says reception on the third film will determine the fate of an alread-planned 4th film. "I can tell you we've pretty eloquently mapped it out and we see this as a series that's going to go on for quite a while," Fel-Dog says. Hollywood miking  a franchise to no end??? Naaaaaa...

AVENGERS: RUFF AS HULK, RENNER AS HAWKEYE
I would've thought Marvel would've made a bigger splash of pimping out their upcoming Avengers movie, but they probably wanna save that thunder for next year, when Thor and Cap Am are about to come out. Still, we wanna know. Rumor has it tomorrow may see a big Avengers announcement, but:
-Joss Whedon confirmed Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, says he's putting up a "powerhouse cast" for the flick.
-Confirmation came from all sides that Mark Ruffalo is officially signed to take over Hulk from Ed Norton. Good choice, but I still say Marvel sucks for ditching Eddie.

EISNER'S A CONTRACT WITH GOD ADAPTED
Can't say I'm familiar with Will Eisner's work, other than Frank Miller doing a really film out of The Spirit, but the man's memory is about to be salvaged apparently. Announcement was made that the man's graphic novel will be adapted by four "acclaimed" independent directors, one fo each of the book's chapters. Casting is said to be on the move for the next few months, and filming will begin early next year.
