Hey Fools! Finally some movement on David Fincher's adaptation of Stieg Larson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, though I still say why remake the films and not just release the dubbed-over very recent trilogy... I mean it's not like those movies were crap, they've been generating lots of kudos so far!
Sony announced a high profile release date for the film, coming out on December 21, 2011, which means Fincher might have to work a little faster than usual... Rumors have also been debunked from all sides regarding the possible lead-actress casting; Indie Wire indicated that the short list is down to ficve candidates: Emily Browning (Sucker Punch), Sarah Snook (Sleeping Beauty), and Sophie Lowe (Blame) Rooney Mara (Fincher’s own The Social Network) and an unidentified French actress.
Meanwhile, THR indicates that Daniel Craig is close to signing for the co-lead male role of a disgraced financial journalist.
