Levitt as The Riddler?
I've heard worse ideas....

Hey Fools! Absolutely no secret that we're huge fans of Joseph Gordon Levitt (from my constant pimping of 500 Days of Summer and our unanimous vote for him to play The Crow), and when repots first surfaced that Chris Nolan might've liked his Inception performance enough to Bast-cast him, of course we flipped. A new insider report this week has him earmarked for a specific role: Jim Carrey. er... sorry, The Riddler.

Folks at First Showing (via Moviehole) are saying that We've gotten word from a reliable inside source with a studio casting grid that The Riddler is listed as a character for Chris Nolan's highly anticipated to the sequel to The Dark Knight, which is still called Batman 3 at Warner Bros. Even more interesting, the actor currently listed in the same grid to play the assumed villain is none other than Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whose status is just listed as "interested."

I still say that Riddler is way to cheesy a villain for the Nolan-verse -not to mention a poor excuse or a Joker clone- but seeing how dark and realistic he made the Joker look, having a guy like Levitt to play him could be an interesting concept.

As for any kind of possible announcement for the film at Comic Con, I say don't hold your breath; last we heard Nolan & Nolan were still banging out the script, and Warner already announced the release date. Unless pre-production is WAY more advanced than anyone's been led to believe, I don't think they have anything  remotely tangible to present fans at the Con.  But hey, you never know.
